I now feel sensational...no more pain ..well at least in my sinuses anyway! I have been busy the last few days with photoshoots and life stuff. Mostly the photoshoots part though (my house is a mess!!) I do have some layouts to share. Here are the ones I made for my page about me class at my house..

i am sick

i have a sinus infection and I am over it. Lying in bed, head propped up. unable to move much because of the severe pressure and throbbing that a change in position cause. Last night was BAD..tonight i am drugged up and feeling oh so slightly better. I am hoping for a miracle tomorrow as I have shit to do and I need to get to it. back to lying flat...seeya 

hello there

I have been meaning to post for days now but life keeps getting in the road..LOL! I shot 5 mini sessions today and I am still working my way though proofing the ones from last weekend. heres a couple of my favourites so far...

I also was very lucky to get to play with some fabulous chipboard from the sensational petrina mcdonald ...i got the very cute koi and made this..

love the little fishy..i embossed him with both black and gold powder to create texture of sorts. They are so easy to work with and really well made. Check out all her other designs at her blog...

I wish I had more to report but my life lately consists of the camera, computer and the occasional coffee...LOL! I have more minis tomorrow and again next weekend so things aren't going to change for a bit (although I may switch to tea at some stage..LOL!) and I wouldn't have it any other way. Chasing your dream really is fun (and a little tiring for someone so unfit! hehee!!)

for all the emails, comments and support re Jack and his prickle. I really appreciate it. It scared the s**T out of me and I am much calmer now, although a little nervous just in case (thats always been my protective mechanism..think the worst and it can only be good news..crap way of coping really but its a hard habit to break!LOL!)] I have spent the day proofing photos, doing errands, getting a massage for my knotted back and generally flittering the day away while the kids had a great day with Grandma and Grandpa. I have some new sessions up over on my photoblog..loving these 2 ..

Lucy has her first day of orientation tomorrow..she is beyond excited. Me too I suppose. I love seeing her enthusiasm and desire to grow and learn. If I can step away from the computer for a while this week (buried under a mountain of mini sessions..LOL!) I plan to scrap. heres hoping I have a time productive couple of days before round 2 of minis starts on saturday. should go to bed.....

what a day..

sometimes I feel I might be a bit overprotective as a mother. I think its my medical background. I don't like to mess with people health, especially my families/kids. Jack has had a freckle on his gorgeous little milky coloured thigh for a while now. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that it had become a little darker and raised. I commented to my hubby and he said what I was thinking "probably just turning into a mole" ..But it bugged me everytime I changed his nappy. A tiny little speck but it bugged me. So today I took him along to the skin cancer clinic and Lucy, Jack and I had our skin checked. Lucy and I got the all clear but the moment the doctor saw Jacks freckle he said "thats got to come off". quick, simple statement that made me freeze. He told me it was the most common sort of mole that becomes melanoma and the fact it was already changing was suspicious. He said he had seen a 9 year old last week with melanoma. So he took it off and it will be biopsied. Jack was so brave and now has a little stitch where his freckle (or prickle as he calls it) used to be. Covered with a bandaid, which he was hoping would be wiggles but got the plain brown variety instead.
So the moral to my story..my baby is only 3 and he has fair skin that rarely sees the light of day without cover and sunscreen. My heart breaks for the possibility of "what if". Brad told me he wouldn't have thought to have it checked. I felt like I was being over protective and possibly silly dragging 2 kids off to the skin cancer clinic. I was wrong and right all at once. I am grateful for my intuition. I am grateful for that doctor. I am grateful for my son.
Make an appointment, GO, have your skin checked..and drag along those you love.

on the up..

I need more sleep but I am feeling pretty chipper today. I met with 2 brides this morning which is always fun, then I had a session with a family at the beach this afternoon. The afternoon was finished off watching Brad play touch footy while the kids ran around burning off the last of their energy for the day. Yesterday, the kids and I bought a beach tent and chairs and spent a few hours at the beach. It was so relaxing and fun. We will definitely be spending more time there this summer...hence the tent , Jack is so fair skinned! It was so refreshing to my mind and spirit to sit and do nothing, breathe in the fresh sea air an soak up the sound of the waves mixed with my children's laughter. And for a change I didn't take my camera..although I probably will next time...
It was DT upload time for me again this week at shop and crop..the theme this week was career. I am now self employed after 14 years of working in a very scheduled and structured occupation. It was fun to document that change, plus my current crazy busy (fabulous) working life, and of course, my biggest and most important job, raising my 2 crazy monkeys..

and last but not least...I am constantly in awe of how generous scrapbookers are with their time and talent. Julie Stone has put a call out on her blog to see if we can help to make pages for the SCKC again.. Heres some words directly from Julies blog..
Many of you who helped SCKC to achieve this during 2009, are aware of the amazing impact that these crafted albums have on the children's self worth, helping to sustain the feeling of hope and unconditional love they felt at camp each year.

Our aim for 2009 is to produce 6300 base scrap pages, that will cover the needs of all 9 camps held in Australia & NZ, great news already is that the New Zealand camp has had it's quota filled and the pages are being sent down in preparation right now!

We do however need to appeal to you urgently as the first three in Australiaare being held in early January! I know that sounds daunting but I was amazed daily at the incredible numbers of LO's that poured in ever so quickly last year. They don't need to be detailed, simple basic designs work best.

If you are willing to help again, please email me or leave a post, I can send you out a page needs email and if you can please let your Local Scrap Shop or On line community know as we need everyones support to keep making a real difference in these children's lives.

We are also happily accepting your old scrap stash so that we can send product out to each camp to help them create beautiful covers on the albums too......old left over alphas, ribbons, flowers, epoxy embellishments, buttons, stickers,etc, anything you can spare will help!

Once again, Thanks so very much and be assured that the scrapbooking assistance you offer is invaluable and makes a huge difference, be it a little or a lot, it will all go toward putting huge smiles on the faces of some very sad little kids.

weary

i am feeling a little worn out today. A combination of new drugs, restless sleep and lots to do and on my mind. Mix that in with the emotional drain of toilet training and school orientation (thankfully for different children or I would be in all sorts of trouble..LOL!) and I could really use a day off. I have to wait til friday because my schedule is nicely full until then. I am by no means complaining...I LOVE to be busy. I get bored easily. wish I didn't sometimes. I have a batch of new photos and product sitting next to me..whispering me, enticing me to play. But they have to wait as I have sessions to finish proofing before the mammoth weekend ahead of me. I have 15 mini sessions over the 2 days. Woweee!! I am so excited about meeting and capturing all these familes together...and praying for good weather! LOL!
I am so unexciting at the moment  have not much else to say. My classes at my place are now all full (see last post). I am happy for people to come along and play using their own stash and following the instructions for $15 incl. supper if that interests anyone.

classes at my place

finally I have sorted myself out with the classes at my place. I got some fabulous kits in from the states before the aussie dollar plummeted. I have combined the classes as I was worried about jamming too much in for people in the crazy busy lead up to christmas. After christmas I will be introducing some BYO stash classes with sketches and photo challenges. For now, heres the 2 kit classes.

You get everything in the kit as shown (although some of the embellishments are split packs but they will all work perfectly well!), plus supper, class notes and instructions, and most importantly 2 and 1/2 hours of scrapping time! well..what a weekend. It has taken almost 2 days to recover from my lack of sleep. I had an amazing time hanging out with nikala and kelly . we talked, we laughed, we taught (?) and I can't speak for them but I felt like I did alot of eating too!! LOL! heres a little pictorial snippet of our weekend.
we went into darling harbour on the saturday night because the girls had never seen the opera house. We had a chilly but lovely (and free) trip around to the rocks and back..

Kelly is quite camera shy but she shouldn't be..she is gorgeous!
and the funniest part of the night for me. ..on the walk back to the carpark I saw these cool lights in the pavement. I asked the girls to pose in them for a few shots. We had some people looking at us and laughing ..then they told us it was a fountain. Just as Kelly came out the water came up...close call..but it would have been very funny!! LOL!

I have layouts to share but I have to photograph them..so tomorrow.
I didn't back a winner today..damn the tart reader who told me to bet on 7..she was WRONG! LOL!
I don't have much else to report..so bed for me.

beyond tired. Great weekend. Teaching, shopping , laughing, eating. loved seeing lee and sarah (and gang) . Had the best time hanging out with Nikala and Kelly. Will be back to share more soon. for now, bed.
